Help Save Noah: Emergency Surgery and Recovery Fund

Donation protected
On Monday evening, I came home around 6pm to find my sweet cat Noah in immense pain. He was wailing, mostly immobile, and cried out when I tried to pick him up. Almost immediately, he began having involuntary muscle spasms, vomiting, and lost control of his bowels. I rushed him to MedVet Frisco, where we were told the devastating news: Noah had a complete bladder blockage that required emergency surgery to save his life.

The blockage caused his bladder to back up dangerously, leading to severe complications with his kidneys and liver. His blood pressure was critically low and he was immediately put on IV fluids, blood pressure medication, and a catheter to begin draining the blood, crystals, and mucus that had built up in his system. He remained hospitalized for the next three days, undergoing intensive care.

On Thursday, they attempted to remove his catheter, but Noah re-blocked immediately—his bladder was full, and he still couldn’t urinate on his own. (Or with doctor manipulation) I got a call at 1:30pm while at work and was told I needed to get him to a board-certified surgeon in Dallas by 2:30pm, given the complexity of the surgery. I dropped everything and rushed him there.

That same day, Noah underwent a perineal urethrostomy—a life-saving and last-resort procedure that involved surgically removing part of his urethra and creating a new, larger opening. This will help prevent future blockages and allow his body to naturally pass any remaining or future crystals, etc.

Despite everything, Noah’s fighting spirit is still shining with flirty headbutts and biscuit making! He made it through surgery, and with ongoing care, a prescription diet, and some medications, he has the chance to live a pain-free, happy life for 10+ more years. If this was not the case, I would have made the hard decision to let him go peacefully.

Why I'm Asking for Help—

While I do have emergency pet insurance, it only covers up to $10,000—unfortunately, this situation has already far exceeded that limit. Between emergency care, surgeries, anesthesia, round-the-clock hospitalization, bloodwork, and medication, the costs have become overwhelming.

To some, this might seem like “too much” to spend on a pet—but Noah is so much more than a pet. He has been my family since 2017, after I lost my beloved cat Clark. He’s seen me through heartbreak, five different moves, and the stress of grad school. He’s my cuddle buddy, my constant companion, my emotional support. When I had no one else to talk to, I had him.

I would never ask for help unless I truly needed it. If you are financially able and feel moved to contribute, any amount means the world to me. If you’re not in a position to give, I completely understand—and all I ask is that you keep Noah in your thoughts and prayers as he begins his long road to recovery.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this, share it, or support us in any way you can♥️
