I found my babies the day they were born. Momma cat was picked up and dropped by a hawk after having the babies. The babies were found in the hot sun with no protection. Umbilical cords still attached and their eyes still closed. One baby was being eaten alive from the inside out by maggots. I took them in and helped them immediately. I have never done this before. I’ve had cats all my life but never neonatal kittens. I did my research as I was saving them. It took a lot of learning and reading and asking others for advice, but I am willing to do anything to save them. Buying their formula and all the supplies I’ve needed have cost me so much. I can’t work right now because without me they will die. I feed them every 1-2 hours around the clock. I am exhausted. I put out a post looking for anyone with a lactating momma cat that could help my babies thrive. I got a call today about cats found in a condemned apartment that had been flea bombed! Those poor babies. One of them was a new mom with 3 kittens the exact same age as mine. I sped over there immediately but got some terrible news. Two of her baby kittens had died. It was devastating, but at least she still had one. A little girl. They were infested with fleas. That little week old baby was covered in fleas. I took them to the emergency vet and they charged me $200 for them to tell me they cannot help me. I took them home and isolated them. I immediately started life saving measures for both of them. I gave babygirl a little capstar flea medication but it was too late. I could feel her going limp. Her body going cold, no matter how much I tried to warm her up. I let momma sniff her one more time. Baby girl passed in my hands. I tried cpr but it was no use. Her lips and gums were white. Her body was in my hands but her soul was gone. I cried and begged God to bring her back. I was so mad because I could have maybe saved her and her siblings if I had been called earlier. She most likely died from flea anemia.

After baby girl died in my arms, momma cat had this grieving look on her face. I felt so bad. I wish I could’ve given her and her baby a good life. I couldn’t save her baby but maybe I can save her and my neonate kittens. She needs a lot of veterinary care. She’s not only infested with fleas but her tail looks injured. Who knows what she went through during her birth. Funds would help me get her better and make sure that my neonate babies all survive. I’m fighting a demon right now and currently the demon is winning but I need to prevail. If momma cat can get the help she needs I can introduce her to my neonate kittens. It will help heal her broken heart and give her purpose again. I wish I had the money to help them all but I don’t so I’m reaching out to anyone who cares. Anyone who values empathy for all living things no matter how small.

Please help me give this mama and these babies a chance at life. I owe it to her babies.
