Help Save Newark Stray Buttercup

Yesterday Whiskers Rescue answered a post on facebook about a cat found on the streets of newark or irvington. It was not clear. The cat clearly needed to see a vet as he isVERY skinny. The woman who found him did not have the funds. We offered to pay for him to see our vet. In all honesty I assumed this would be a fairly simple case of starvation and basic vetting. Well things quickly went down hill. Buttercup is felv/fiv negative and his blood work is fine which did not explain is poor breathing. Xrays were done which showed a hyernia in his diaprham. His intensines are in his chest cavity putting pressure on his lungs and heart. The only chance to save this 2 yos boy is emergency surgery at a specialist. If all goes well we will add $3000 to what we have already spent at our normal vet. If they find it is worse than anyone can see on an xray the price will go up. We want to give this young, sweet cat a chance. He does not derserve his life to end like this. We need your help though. We are a tiny group and this is a HUGE bill.
