**UPDATE**

We had to make the most hardiest decision last night to end our baby suffering. She fought so strong this whole week that she was going through this illness. Having to hear that if we do everything the doctor is suggesting, there was still a possibility of her not getting better. So we had to make that decision instead of letting her come home to be uncomfortable. We have a remaining balance of $7,000 from Nalas medical expenses. We are kindly asking for support to pay those expenses off. Erik and I are both college students who only work part time. We appreciate everyone who has already donated or shared our baby story. Hi, our name are Erik and Sarah, and We’re reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for our sweet dog, Nala. She’s more than just a pet—she’s our baby. Nala has suddenly fallen very ill and is now in critical condition at the emergency veterinary hospital.

After a scary night of not sleeping, labored breathing, and refusing food, we rushed her to the ER. Since then, she’s been admitted for oxygen therapy, IV fluids, medications, and 24/7 monitoring. Her vet team is working hard to stabilize her and treat what may be a serious respiratory illness or infection, and possibly anemia.

Right now, Nala is on:

Oxygen support to help her breathe

IV antibiotics and fluids to fight infection and dehydration

Nebulizer treatments and medications to clear her lungs

Continuous bloodwork and monitoring

The vet estimate is between $6,000–$10,000 and unfortunately, this is more than we can handle alone. We’re doing everything we can to give Nala the care she needs, but we’re asking for your help to make it possible.
