Help Save My Vision: Urgent Surgery Needed for Eye Cancer
Hi, I’m reaching out with a very personal and difficult ask: I need help to save my right eye—and my vision.
I’ve recently been diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on my right eyelid, a form of skin cancer that, while often treatable, poses serious risks when it appears in such a delicate and vital area. In order to prevent the cancer from spreading further and to preserve my eyesight, I’ll need two surgeries:
- Mohs surgery to remove the carcinoma with precision.
- Reconstructive surgery to repair the damage to my eyelid after the cancerous lesion is removed.
The total projected cost of both procedures is anywhere between $5,000 and $12,000, depending on how complex the reconstruction becomes and how my body responds to the initial removal. Even the most optimistic estimate is a significant burden—and unfortunately, I’m responsible for the bulk of it out-of-pocket.
Without these surgeries, I risk permanent vision loss in my right eye—or even losing the eye entirely.
I’m a mom, a hard-working professional, and someone who is deeply uncomfortable asking for help—but I’ve reached a point where I have to. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward covering the cost of these urgent surgeries. If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this campaign and offering up a prayer means the world to me, too.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping however you can. Your support brings more than financial relief—it brings hope.
With deep gratitude,
Karen
