My name is Jett Koda, published under Katalin Jett Koda. I have been reading Tarot and practicing ceremonial arts for the last 25 years. My book Experience the Mystery of Tarot was published by Llewellyn Inc in November, 2020. This book is a masterful culmination of 25 years of my work with Tarot and ceremonial arts. My publisher just informed me the book is going out of print... and I’d love to save as many copies as I can!

Due to the pandemic, sales did not fare well. Out of print means my publisher will discard the remaining 1200 copies. I have ONLY 10 DAYS to purchase them for 20% list price .... so I need your help! All funds raised are to cover the cost of books and shipping.

I read the book cover-to-cover (something I have admittedly not done with other Tarot books), and really enjoyed the story-like quality the author brought to the interpretations. I could see the progression in the Majors of the “Hero’s Journey” very clearly, and meanings of the cards in context to others. The author did the same for the minors, also. I appreciate the reintroduction of the “cycles of 7” (from Pollack’s work), adding another layer of interpretation - and as a Qabahlist, I do love layers! :)

I appreciate the author’s interpretation of the symbolism of the Smith-Waite and Thoth decks, which is clear and concise. Additionally, the author has included a ceremony with every single card (some of the Majors have specific layouts or meditations) to better help the reader learn and embody the meaning and archetypes of the cards. This could be not only useful if one is new to Tarot, but also provides ideas for new ways of working with the cards. If you’re into ceremony, ritual magick, or Qabalah, there is a lot of content in this book to work with. I’m already generating lots of new ideas for correspondence working in my next Tree of Life journey. (And if you are “not into ceremony”, I don’t understand why you bother to review this book.)

ABOUT ME:

Jett Koda (she/they) is an author, intuitive healer, Reiki Master, Tarot reader, parent, poet, social worker and queer mystic. Jett has authored several books including Experience the Mystery of Tarot, Sacred Path of Reiki & Fire of the Goddess. She has been deeply intimate with the non-human liminal worlds since she was a child. After a series of health issues, she developed clairvoyant abilities that allow her to see energy fields, guides, and helper spirits.
