My name is Brittany, and I’m writing this with an extremely heavy heart because my best friend, my beautiful 8-year-old Rottweiler, Zara, is in for a fight for her life.

Just recently, Zara was diagnosed with open pyometra — a sudden, life-threatening infection of the uterus that can take a dog’s life in a matter of weeks or days if she doesn’t get emergency surgery. The hardest part is that Zara is still so full of life. She’s strong, active, and healthy in every other way. She still runs to greet me at the door, still loves our walks, still wiggles her whole body when she’s happy. It feels so cruel and unfair that something like this could take her away from me so quickly.

Zara has been my rock for the past 8 years — through heartbreak, loss, and some of the hardest moments of my life. She has comforted me in silence when I couldn’t find the words, celebrated with me when life was good, and given me unconditional love when we are together. I can’t imagine my world without her silly, gentle, loving spirit and her loving eyes.

She’s also deeply loved by my entire family. We all adore her — she’s been part of our lives for nearly a decade, bringing joy, laughter, and comfort to everyone in our home. But like so many families today, we’re already struggling with daily living costs, rising prices, and trying to keep a roof over our heads.

The cost of this surgery is far beyond what I can manage alone, and time is running out due to the severity of what Zara is diagnosed with.

Financially, life has been an uphill battle and society’s challenges have made it even harder. I don’t have the savings to cover an emergency like this, no matter how much I wish I did but my family and I will do what we can with what we have to try and save her.

The surgery that will save Zara’s life costs $5,400.00. Right now, the only thing standing between Zara and the life-saving surgery she needs is money.

Every single dollar raised will go directly to her emergency care. I’m begging for help to give her the chance she deserves — because she still has so much life left to live.
