Hi everyone,

Our family is in a heartbreaking situation. My son’s beloved cat has suffered a Salter-Harris Type 1 fracture, which means the bone is completely disconnected at the growth plate. The regular vet can’t repair this type of injury — it requires an orthopedic surgeon to pin the bone back in place.

The cost for surgery is around $4,000, and we simply can’t afford that right now. If we can’t raise enough for the surgery, the only other option is amputation, which still costs nearly $2,000.

Right now, his leg is disconnected and basically only being held by skin, which is painful and dangerous. Casting or splinting could make it worse, so time is critical — he needs this surgery as soon as possible to have any chance of saving his leg.

This cat means the world to my son. He’s his best friend, constant companion, and emotional support. We’re devastated, but we’re not giving up. Every dollar — no matter how small — brings us closer to giving him the chance to live a full, happy life on all four paws.
