Help me save my Son!

Brent Radford
Arlington, Washington

As a mother, we will do anything we can to save our children.  I am asking for help!

On February 14th, 2021, a mother, a wife and two young daughters had to hear the impossible. That a loving son, husband and father was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer.

A young beautiful life, CRUSHED.

Brent is 41 years old - a husband to Lisa and a father to two beautiful young daughters, Roslyn, only 13 years old and Breanna, the baby girl of only 3 years old……..WHY WAS THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE CRASHING DOWN THE LIVES OF SO MANY YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE?

The second blow came when Brent was advised that his insurance only covers minimal treatment, such as chemotherapy, but not any of the newest approaches, such as Vitamin C infusions and alternative medical treatments.

He received a notice stating that the insurance company would possibly stop any coverage at the current facility offering his chemo treatments.

Funds donated will significantly help navigate out of pocket costs and allow him to seek alternative medical treatments, NOT traditionally covered by insurance.

I am asking to please donate any amount to help save my son’s life.  Please….

Thank you for your consideration and God Bless you……..

Please feel free to read more of our story.

Briefly,let's go back several weeks.
Brent had been experiencing abdominal pain, upset stomach and issues with bowel movements for some time.  After enduring the increased pain for 3 days, Brent decided  he needed to go to the Emergency Room.

After being admitted to the Emergency Department, blood work and scans were ordered.  Then the results were revealed.  A cancerous tumor was located in the bowel that was preventing digestion and bowel movements.  The Doctor noted spots on the liver, as well as some fluid accumulation on the lung. He was given the diagnosis of Stage 4 Colon Cancer.  Stage 4 indicates the cancer has spread to two or more distant sites, such as the liver or lungs.

Metastasized cancer is typically very difficult to eradicate.

The immediate plan was referrals to an Oncologist and Gastroenterology  surgeon.   A colonoscopy would also be required, then medical treatment would be determined.

After a scan and colonoscopy were completed, It was determined that the best course action would be to begin chemotherapy immediately.

March 11, 2021 was the first session of chemotherapy.  Future treatment would be determined by the scan results and blood tests.

Recently
April 21, 2021, Good news!  The scan reflected that the tumor in the bowel had decreased almost 1 centimeter (2.2 centimeters in an inch).

Current treatment plan is to continue chemotherapy through June.  It was also recommended that Brent receive Vitamin C infusions twice weekly along with the chemotherapy.  Vitamin C infusions seem to improve effectiveness of current therapies.  Unfortunately, these infusions are not covered by insurance.

Anticipating the difficulties ahead has influenced the need for a fundraiser..

Funds donated will significantly help navigate out of pocket costs and allow him to seek alternative medical treatments, not traditionally covered by insurance.   This will be a long and hard battle.

Support
There are many kinds of support needed. The major need is financial.

Funds will go directly to cover Brent’s expenses, such as alternative medical treatments, medications (Vitamin C infusions) and any out of pocket costs incurred.

As a mother, we will do anything we can to save our children.  I am asking for your help!

Let’s rally together and support him as he keeps a positive attitude by the outpouring of love from friends and family.

Hopefully, these donations will allow people to share in supportive roles.

We express our gratitude for the support given to Brent and his family.

Thank you for reading our story and your consideration.
