If you know anything about me, you’d know that Poe, my four year old cat, means everything to me. A week ago, Poe started to become rapidly sick. He has been in and out of emergency vets, taking him hundreds of miles to specialist doctors. We were told that a case like this is one in a million bad luck. His lungs are filling rapidly with fluid, and a bacterial infection is threatening his life. His intestines are inflamed, and he is losing weight fast. He is on an IV, a catheter, and oxygen. He needs to have chest tubes inserted to treat his condition, so the doctors can replace the fluid buildup and flush out the bacteria, combined with antibiotic care. The cost of treatment is steep, and we are doing everything we can to gather the funds to save his life. Everybody who has met Poe knows that he is the sweetest, friendliest, and silliest cat. Even after harsh treatments and IVs for a week, he’s never scratched or hissed once, and he’s remained happy and alert. He is the sweetest boy and we are working to give him the care that he deserves because he has done nothing but bring happiness to my family and everybody who has ever known him. He would be staying in the hospital for a week to receive constant and high level care. I would not ask for donations if this were not urgent. My baby is fighting for his life right now, and I am asking because it is my last chance of saving him.
