My Story

Hi everyone, my name is Beverly Baguio, 32 years old.
 On April 7th, I began experiencing intense abdominal and pelvic pain—far beyond the usual discomfort I feel during my period. The pain was unbearable, keeping me from sleeping. I took a pain reliever, hoping it would pass, but when it persisted into the next day, I visited a GP. After undergoing X-ray and ultrasound tests on that same week, I received a life-changing diagnosis: I have endometriosis, two fibroids (measuring 5.9 cm and 2.7 cm), and a large ovarian cyst on my right ovary—measuring 9.6 cm.

As a student visa holder I don’t have access to the same benefits others might, which makes this situation even more challenging. My working hours are restricted to 24 hrs/week. What I earn goes directly toward tuition fee, rent, food, and daily expenses. I simply do not have the financial means to afford the surgery I urgently need.

This is more than a health issue—this is about my future. I already lost my left ovary due to a similar cyst when I was just 17 years old. My right ovary is all I have left. Preserving it is my only hope of one day becoming a mother and experiencing the joy of having children.
