I’m reaching out today with an urgent plea for help. This is about my niece Tasneem, a 19-year-old girl from Gaza whose life changed forever on October 10th, 2023.

That night, an explosion struck her home. In a single moment, Tasneem lost her sister and her father. She herself was gravely injured — her right eye is completely blind and the sight in her left eye is now at severe risk.

After weeks of waiting, Tasneem was finally evacuated to Egypt for emergency surgery. Doctors managed to stabilize what little vision remains in her left eye. But she urgently needs further treatment and another medical evacuation back to Egypt to save her sight. Without it, she will lose her vision completely.

Today, Tasneem lives in a tent with her mother and younger siblings. Every day is filled with pain, grief, and uncertainty — yet she refuses to give up. No matter where she fled she carried her schoolbooks with her. Her dream is simple: to continue her education and build a better future. But without medical help, this dream is slipping away.

Words cannot describe the weight of her suffering. In just one night, her entire world collapsed.
