I never imagined I would have to ask for help to save my mom’s life.
My mom has always been a strong, independent, and healthy woman. She never depended on medications. She was the one who took care of all of us. She was the strong one in our family.
But on December 18th, everything changed.
That day, we rushed her to the emergency room because her breathing was fading. Watching your own mother struggle for air is something no child is ever prepared for. From that moment on, our lives stopped.
Before this happened, she had gone to the doctor for what seemed like a simple urinary infection. She was prescribed medication, and shortly after, she developed a severe hypersensitivity reaction that caused serious damage to her lungs. What should have been a routine treatment turned into a life-threatening condition.
For weeks, we lived in fear and uncertainty. We didn’t have clear answers. We only saw her condition getting worse while she fought every single day to survive.
Then on February 9th, we received the devastating news:
She urgently needs a double lung transplant. It is her only chance to live.
Right now, my mom is between life and death. Doctors have told us that if we do not move forward with the transplant as soon as possible, her condition will continue to decline. Without it, she will not survive.
The only other option presented to us was to consider disconnecting life support. As her children, that is not a decision we are ready to accept.
We want to give our mom a second chance at life.
Since this began, she has fought so hard. Every breath is a battle. Seeing such a strong and independent woman depend on machines to stay alive breaks our hearts.
To make this even harder, we were informed that because of our immigration status, her medical insurance cannot fully cover the transplant and many of the life-saving medical expenses involved.
We are a hardworking family. We never imagined asking strangers for help, but this situation is bigger than us.
We are not asking for luxuries.
We are asking for a chance for our mom to breathe on her own again.
A chance for her to live.
Any donation, no matter how small, brings her one step closer to survival.
If you cannot donate, please share this campaign.
Please help us save our mom.
With all our hope and faith,
Kevin.
