Help save my husbands feet!

Donation protected
On November 9th, 2018, my husband David Graham went to his doctor for a follow-up on some bloodwork. He was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure  and at the same appointment, he received a flu shot. Later that afternoon, my husband starting feeling flu like symptoms and the following morning, he started vomiting and was feeling dizzy. Over the next two days, he was unable to eat, could barely walk and felt extremely dehydrated. We went to the ER on the third day and that is when it was determined that my husband did not have the flu and instead had suffered an extreme stroke in the left side cerebellum area. He never exhibited any signs of a stroke. He was speaking in complete coherent sentences, he did not have and drooping in his face, slurred speech or deficits in his extremities. He presented like he had the flu and a headache from being dehydrated. He was rushed to the ICU and his team of doctors and nurses began working hard to save his life. Over the next week, things were touch and go. Surgeons called me to prepare me that they may have to perform emergency surgery to vent areas of the brain or insert coils into leaks. But remarkably and shockingly, a little over a week after the stroke, they allowed my husband in an altered state of mind to check himself out of the hospital. By doing so, he forfeited the intense physical therapy and rehab that I was working to get him into.

It has been an extremely long road since the stroke. We lost our home, had a vehicle completely break down beyond repair, and have been in financial crisis without his income. In January of 2019, I went back to the workforce full-time after having been a stay at home mom for over 15 years. In September, we cheered our oldest son on as he earned the title of United States Marine. Things had started to stabilize (or so I thought) and I felt like we were on track to start to build things back up. He has been denied disability twice now and we are awaiting a court date to have a judge decide if he should be receiving disability.

My husband has been on a slew of medications to manage his diabetes, neuropathy, blood pressure etc. In the last six months, the pain in his feet has become unbearable. The medications he has been prescribed have not helped and now the damage is causing him to lose his balance and fall. He is in constant pain and this has left him depressed and feeling useless. The only solution the doctors have given him for the extreme neuropathy in his feet that was exacerbated by the massive stroke is to amputate both of his feet. He has a 75% loss of blood flow and major nerve damage in his feet and he is almost to the point where there is nothing left to do.

We have explored some other options and have found a very promising treatment with excellent results but it is not covered at all by insurance. We have an extremely short time to raise almost $6,000.00 to try to save my husbands feet. I have attached a photo of the estimate from The Plantation Health and Wellness Center for a Complete Neuropathy Treatment Plan including the 10% discount if we pay in full. We did not qualify for financing through the center. We have four children ages 10, 10, 7 and 6 that desperately need their father to be ok and an adult son serving this great country that needs to focus on his job, keeping America safe and knowing that his dad will be ok.

I am begging for help from all of you, I cannot do this on my own. Our remaining vehicle was side-swiped by a truck on the turnpike this week and I just don't know what else to do.
