My cat recently had to undergo emergency surgery to save his life. The procedure was absolutely necessary, but it came with a staggering cost that I simply cannot manage on my own. As someone living on a fixed income, this unexpected expense has created a financial burden that is overwhelming. I rely on public assistance and social security disability, and the thought of having to sacrifice my family's basic needs just to pay off this debt is incredibly stressful.

My family and I have always done our best to help animals in need—we've volunteered at VIVA cat shelter for four years and regularly provide TNR (trap-neuter-return) services to stray cats in our neighborhood.
