Help save my brother Mike's life
Donation protected
Setting up this page is the ultimate test of swallowing my pride. At the end of the day, I will only have peace if I know that I did everything I possibly could to prevent my brother’s funeral, and to attempt to help him find a purpose for living. My brother Mike has struggled with addiction for years. He has been resuscitated numerous times from heroin overdose, and I fear the next time would take his life. He told me that he doesn’t want to die, but he knows he will if he doesn’t get help he needs. He is WILLING to get help. His friend Tim (former heroin addict) attended a rehabilitation center in Florida and has been sober for 2 years. His story has inspired Mike that there IS hope and a possibility to begin a new life. We have friends who have suggested setting up a gofundme page to easily raise funds for Mike to go to intense inpatient drug rehab. I am raising funds to cover the costs of my brother’s treatment at the Royal Life Center in Florida. I feel that it would be helpful if he could get away from the familiar surroundings of Cleveland, and the temptations that are so close to home. Many of you know that one of his best friends from high school, Aaron Ressler, lost his life to this beast of heroin addiction just a month ago. I will do everything in my ability to prevent this from being my brother’s fate. So many things are out of my control regarding my brother’s addiction, but I care deeply for him and hope that those of you who love and care for him will contribute however much is in your heart to give. I’d rather raise funds for treatment than for a funeral. Please consider giving to help my brother get into this rehab center. All donations will be used to cover the costs associated with Mike's treatment. Any additional funds will be put towards airfare and living expenses. We need the funds as soon as possible, and are hoping to send him down to Florida by March 1st. Thank you for ANY amount you are led to give, and most of all THANK YOU for your prayers for strength and courage for my brother as he is on his journey to recovery.
