Hi, my name is Amanda and I’m reaching out with the most difficult ask I’ve ever had to make — for help to save my dog, my best friend, and my emotional lifeline.

My boy is only 4 years old, full of life, love, and loyalty. He’s just been diagnosed with a mast cell tumour — a form of cancer that can be unpredictable. His pre-operative appointment is this Friday 11th July, then a surgery date will become clear and from there, the lump will be sent off for grading and margin analysis. Depending on the results, surgery may be enough — or he may need further treatment.

Because he’s a banned breed in the UK, I’ve struggled immensely to find any insurance coverage. I never imagined facing something like this so early in his life — and completely unprepared financially. Now, I’m heartbroken and scared, trying to save him without the resources to do it alone.

He isn’t just a pet — he’s my world. He’s gotten me through some of the darkest periods in my life. He is my emotional support and my reason to keep going. Unfortunately, emotional support animals don’t receive any formal recognition in the UK, which leaves us without any help or support.

I can’t lose him. I won’t give up on him. But I need help.
