Help save my beautiful corgi Red's life
Donation protected
Hi all:
I'm never one to do these newfangled GoFundMe things (ha) but I am in serious need of help. Or I should say, our dog is in need of help. Red, otherwise known as Redmond, Redward, Dward-o, our gorgeous gorgeous fluffy corgi, is our heart and soul, first of all, our only child (fur child) and he is in the veterinary hospital in Concord right now receiving IV fluids and medications to help save his life. His kidneys are failing; we suspect due to Lyme Disease that I could not stave off due to the ridiculously huge number of blood sucking (and poisoning) ticks in the woods behind our home, where we takes him for long hikes and runs every day - which he lives for. I have tried the preventative tick meds - many of them - to no avail. He is having more tests, however, just to rule anything else out. Anyway, the hospital wants to keep him for a couple more days to give him more fluids and meds in the hopes of him recovering - and the vet won't do a payment plan sadly. SO we were faced with the decision today to either come up with the money or take him home to die there. All my family and friends thought all of y'all may want to help. We already put down a deposit to keep him there tonight and the rest we need to pay up front if he responds well to treatment tomorrow and they keep him a couple more days. We have never been faced with such a painful decision; Red is the light of our lives and was here for me when my own husband was in a similar situation a couple years ago in the ICU. We of course want to save his life. He will not have a prayer of surviving without this treatment. Our community is so generous and I feel so lucky - we just need a little more luck right now to save our fur babe. We thank you all in advance for any help you can offer. In the meantime, if you would please say a prayer for Red that he responds to his treatment tonight, we would be forever grateful. Much love, Nicole and Dana Colson oxoxo
