Help save local Peninsula Bakery

Hi, my name is Carly, I own and run a small Bakery & Patisserie in Mornington.

I opened in the first stage four lockdown in Victoria and we managed to serve out beautiful local community and put a lot of people that need jobs work during this time.

we have had a lot of local support that has helped get us through that really difficult time.

However on December 5th last year we unfortunately had a elderly lady drive her car through the front of our shop.

Very lucky we were had just closed for the day and no one was badly hurt in the accident.

We lost most of the front of the shop that had to be boarders up and we had a lot of inside damage to our counters and fridges .

we had to close for a while for a clean up to try and get the shop open to trade as it’s my only income for myself and my staff.

The shop through has looked unappealing with the hoarding and locals and others have thought we have been closed since December therefor it has caused me to loose over half of my normal trade and fall behind in rent and other bills.

As a single mum with two young kids this Buisness also has to provided my own rent at home and bills, food ect .

It also needs to cover my wages for my staff so they can support their own families.

I have had nothing but problems getting the insurance sorted with RACV to get the shop fixed to the pint of having to report them as I’m at the stages of having to close my doors.

They have only just agreed to a settlement a couple of days ago but due to inflation the original quote will now not cover the entire build and they also won’t pay the GST for the build and new fridges.

Money I just don’t have.

The shop is also very behind in rent that I also need to catch up on to stay open.

Im really asking from the kindness of my heart that others can show my kindness to help raise these funds I need to pay my shop rent and other bills to stay open and hopefully cover some of the GST needed for the rebuild.

This shop means everything to me and my kids and my staff and also the local Mornington Peninsula community.

I know it’s been a hard couple of years on us all and I’m not one to ask for help but I do really need help or I will loose everything.

I really need to raise the funds as fast as I can as this is a very urgent matter.

This money will also cover debt that has been accumulated with other suppliers that are also small businesses with families, so it would be also helping them.

Anything will help and will be so appreciated.
