HELP SAVE MY ABA (dad)

Hi, my name is Viki Harush. On Oct 6, 2021 my father Gaston Harush was diagnosed with an exceptionally rare and deadly blood disorder called Amyloidosis very similar to that of Myeloma. Since this disease is so rare (10 in 1Million people have it) I turned to google cause I knew nothing about it. It's a disease that attacks the Heart, kidneys, liver, spleen, nervous system and digestive system causing them to lead to failure.

 

Without treatment he would have between 6-13 months to live. Currently my dads kidneys are severely affected. As of right now, my dad is undergoing chemotherapy but there is this 1 DRUG THAT CAN GIVE HIM A BETTER CHANCE TO LIVE. This drug is called Darzalex and it is not covered by OHIP and no other companies help to fund this. The minimum this will cost my family is $144,698.24 for just 16 treatments (1 treatment/week) that are done at the hospital and then another $9043.64 for each treatment once a month for the coming months ahead until he goes into remission. 

 

My father has always been such a giving person. Never turned a blind eye on someone who needs help and always lent a helping hand no matter who, what, where & why.  Now it’s our turn to give back. 

 

 I could not stand loosing him knowing there is a treatment out there that can increase his chances to live by up to 54%. That’s huge! It is our only hope at this time. If this was your father I know you would do the same which is keep fighting. 

 

I am asking with all my heart from my family, friends and our community to help us get this drug for my amazing aba.

היי, שמי ויקי הרוש. ב- 6 באוקטובר 2021 אובחן אבי גסטון הרוש עם הפרעת דם נדירה וקטלנית הנקראת עמילואידוזיס הדומה מאוד לסרטן מסוג מיאלומה. מכיוון שהמחלה כה נדירה (אצל 10 מתוך מיליון) נאלצתי לחקור אודותיה כיוון שלא ידעתי עליה דבר. זוהי מחלה שתוקפת את הלב, הכליות, הכבד, הטחול, מערכת העצבים ומערכת העיכול וגורמת להם לכשל. ללא טיפול נותרו לו בין 6-13 חודשים לחיות מכיון שהכליות של אבא שלי פגועות קשות. 
נכון לעכשיו, אבא שלי עובר כימותרפיה אבל יש תרופה אחת שיכולה לתת לו סיכוי טוב יותר לחיות. תרופה זו נקראת Darzalex והיא אינה מכוסה על ידי סל התרופות. המינימום שהטיפול יעלה למשפחתי הוא 144,698.24 $ עבור 16 טיפולים בלבד (טיפול אחד כל שבוע) שנעשים בבית החולים ולאחר מכן עוד9043.63 $ עבור כל טיפול פעם בחודש בחודשים הבאים אח״כ. זו התקווה היחידה שלנו כרגע. אני מבקשת בכל לבי ממשפחתי, מחבריי ומהקהילה שלנו לעזור לנו להשיג את התרופה הזו לאבי היקר.
