Help Save MT Returnables!
As many of you know, my father passed away unexpectedly in August. He did not have a will or life insurance. And because his business was a sole proprietorship, everything tied to him is still tied to his estate, likely to be used to pay off debts. I have been trying with everything I’ve got to save his business, but the unique situation has caused me to run into wall after wall. Because his business was a sole proprietorship, in the eyes of the law I am required to reopen the business as a new endeavor. I have secured ownership over the business name, gotten the proper tax ID from the IRS, and have mostly everything settled legally.
The one problem I am having is financing. Because this has been my job for the last 15 years, I have not been able to work with the shop being closed. And the banks have told me that without income, they will not lend to me. It’s a viscous circle. Because of the nature of this business, I cannot open without funds. I have run a budget and this is the bare minimum I can get away with to open. I hate asking for help on this. But my heart and soul are telling me that I cannot give up and I cannot let my father’s business close. He worked far too hard the last two decades to let some messed up system erase all that he worked for.
I am more than willing to repay you whenI get this place back on it’s feet. I won’t be able to repay everyone all at once. But I will make payments each month to reimburse those who need me to. I understand that times have been hard for many. And I appreciate all the help I’ve been offered and received so far. Thank you.
