UPDATE:
May 7th 2026 Mr Little's got his toe amputation surgery. He is recovering smoothly! We have his follow up on the 21st of May.

While we were able to gather funds via personal donations/ sales/ affirms loans to help cover all of his initial VCA visit $1200 + Bandage changes $85 X 5 + the gas to make it to and from and then his amputation surgery. $1,200, well we were left with a huge depletion of funds in our budget for the next few months. So I am going to keep this up for a little while if anyone decides to bless our little sanctuary so we can get back to not just providing for our Meow Oasis Cat Sanctuary Tribe but also continuing progress on the cat barns at the sanctuary.
With Love and Gratitude, Vivianette

Hello, and thank you so much for taking a moment to read our story.

My name is Vivianette, and I run a small cat sanctuary on my property here in rural Arizona. We foster cats for adoption and provide long-term, loving sanctuary for a special group of permanent residents. Right now, I am caring for 24 cats of all different ages, each one a little soul that deserves safety, comfort, and love.

This sanctuary is a labor of pure love. I am also actively repairing and building out the property, creating safe spaces for our long-term kitty residents, all while keeping up with the everyday demands of running a small animal rescue.

Meet Aries, AKA Mr. Littles

Mr. Littles holds a very special place in my heart. He was the very first cat I rescued here in Arizona, found outside of State Farm Stadium in the Phoenix area back in 2016. My almost 10 year old has truly been one of the best boys. He is quick to show our foster kittens the ropes and has a gift for helping our feisty feral babies soften up and begin to trust humans. Watching him work with the other kitties in our tribe is a truly remarkable experience.

This past week, our resilient boy suffered a broken back left leg. How it happened is unclear. He was not in a fight and has no other injuries or wounds. The veterinarians and specialists who have examined him believe he may have landed a jump incorrectly.

We have been traveling back and forth between Winkleman and Mesa seeking the best path forward for him. After consultations, we were presented with three surgical options:

• Pin placement (bone repair) at approximately $8,000
• Toe/digit amputation between $2,300 and $3,500
• Leg amputation between $1,200 and $2,300

We are currently weighing the toe or leg amputation as the options that give Littles the best chance at a comfortable, happy life. He is strong, he is a fighter, and he deserves every bit of care we can give him.

While we work toward his May 7th surgery date with Dr. Kelly's Surgical Unit in Mesa, Littles is being monitored every 3 days at VCA for bandage changes and infection checks at $60 per visit. We have two more visits before surgery, adding another $120 to an already growing bill. Pain management medications have added to the costs as well.

The Bigger Picture

Beyond Littles' surgery, keeping 24 cats healthy and fed is no small task. Every week we go through 30 to 40 lbs of food and over 70 lbs of cat litter, totaling around $180 per week in basic care costs alone. We are also in the middle of repairing and building out our front catio, a concrete project I am eager to complete before Arizona temperatures climb back over 100°F.

Littles' unexpected medical crisis has set us back, but he is our priority right now. His surgery comes first.

How You Can Help

Every dollar donated goes directly to Littles' surgery and recovery, ongoing vet visits, and the daily care of all 24 cats at the sanctuary. If a financial donation is not possible right now, simply sharing our story means the world. It helps us reach more kind-hearted people who love animals just like we do.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and from 24 sets of tiny paws.

With love,
Vivianette & The Meow Oasis Sanctuary
