Yes, this is a cry for help
A lot of you know the crazy story of how I found and rescued my previous cat, Trooper. He was my best friend for 17 years. Losing him absolutely crushed me. Not long after Trooper passed, I stopped by a local cat rescue. There was one cat off in a separate room, anxiously hiding in a corner by himself. They said he was terrified and shy, and wouldn’t come out for anyone. The second I saw him, I knew he was coming home with me. We formed an instant bond. That cat was Morty. Morty is four years old now and he’s been the most loving, chill, and affectionate buddy I could ask for. It honestly feels like Morty showed up to heal the broken parts of my heart, and he’s become my best friend.
Now, Morty is fighting for his life. He was diagnosed with FLUTD during an emergency visit on Thursday and has been admitted at the animal hospital ever since. We have been visiting him, but leaving him there alone each time has been heartbreaking. The hospital staff are doing their best to keep him stable, but the only way to save his life is a surgery that will correct the underlying issue and prevent it from happening again. If Morty comes home without this surgery, his condition will only worsen and he will not survive.
I’m asking for your help because I can’t imagine life without Morty. Each day I come home and Morty isn’t there to greet me in the way he always does, my heart breaks a little more. He’s my best friend, and I’d do absolutely anything to save him. Unfortunately, the cost to do so is outside of my capability. If you’re able to help us raise what we need for this surgery, I can’t tell you how much it would mean. Every bit counts, whether it’s a donation, a share, or just keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for caring about Morty. I just want to bring my best friend home back where he belongs, curled up and chilling next to me, happy and safe.
