Help Save Moriah Chapel — A Future of Hope for Our Community

Donation protected
For over 30 years, Greenfields Community Church (Registered Charity No. 1104323) has been a place of hope, comfort, and support at the heart of Morriston, Swansea. Sadly, our current Portacabin is no longer suitable to remain open or meet the growing needs of our community. We now face an urgent need to relocate.

We have been given a remarkable opportunity to make Moriah Baptist Chapel in Clydach, Swansea our new home.
Built in 1892, with vestry foundations laid in 1882, Moriah Chapel is a treasured local landmark. Once a thriving place of worship and community life, it now stands unused — yet full of potential to serve the community once again.

However, the building is currently not fit for use. It requires extensive refurbishment, including:
• New roofing
• Central heating installation
• Electrical and plumbing upgrades
• Carpeting, painting, and full internal and external cleaning

Our vision is to restore and renew Moriah Chapel into a welcoming, fully accessible place of worship and community hub — a space that nurtures faith and supports those in need.
Our Mission
We are raising £500,000 to transform Moriah Chapel into a sanctuary that will:
• Support mental health and wellbeing
• Tackle loneliness and social isolation
• Provide care and support for families, children, individuals, schools, and vulnerable communities
• Host expanded youth programmes
• Grow our food bank services
• Offer a larger gathering space for fellowship, connection, and community events
This appeal is not just about saving a building.
It is about protecting a lifeline — a place where people can find hope, belonging, and practical support when they need it most.
