My family is going through the most difficult time we’ve ever faced. Just a few days ago, my mom was diagnosed with a large mass in her anterior mediastinum — a delicate area near the heart and lungs — that now threatens her health and her life. The diagnosis is still in progress, but doctors suspect lymphoma or a fast-growing tumor. As we wait for the biopsy, each day feels urgent, and the emotional toll is overwhelming.

My mom is a noble, generous, and resilient woman. For years, she has bravely battled an invisible condition that gradually affected her cognitive abilities, yet she never lost her capacity to give love, laugh with us, or dream of a future together. She has always been the warm heart of our home — even in her most fragile moments.

This diagnosis has taken us by surprise. Medically, emotionally, and financially, we are overwhelmed. My family lives in Venezuela, where access to specialized care is extremely limited. We need to cover the costs of advanced testing, biopsies, potential cancer treatment, and, if necessary, a high-risk surgery. All of this comes at a cost we simply cannot afford on our own.
