My dog Molly is an 8-week-old dachshund with a cute crooked tail. The other day, she started choking on a beef jerky stick, so we took her to the emergency vet. Once they took her back, she stopped choking, and they found out she has a really strong heart murmur. They did a chest X-ray and found out her heart is three sizes too big for her. Her heart has no room in her chest. With this, they found out she also is having congestive heart failure, which is causing a backflow of fluids into her lungs and also gave her a bad case of pneumonia. The doctor says Molly has approximately 6 months to a year to live. We are giving her water pills for the CHF and antibiotics for her pneumonia. This won’t cure Molly; it’s only making it more comfortable for her. Molly needs heart surgery for this to be fixed. We can’t afford it. The doctor said the surgery would cost about $15,000. We love Molly and she has so much to live for. She’s full of life and is always happy and playful. She doesn’t deserve to die this young. Please help us so we can save Molly.
