My uncle, Khalil Mohammad is currently facing a life-threatening medical emergency.

Khalil is an electrical engineer who has spent his life working hard and caring for others. For years, he has lived with his sister, helping support and look after her. Like many families, their lives were deeply affected by the unrest in Afghanistan.

They fled to Turkiye seeking safety, but after visa limitations forced them to return, they now live in Afghanistan without stable employment or income. For the past seven years, they have faced ongoing hardship and uncertainty.

After months of severe pain, Khalil sought medical care. Following hospital examinations and testing, doctors diagnosed him with stage 3 (updated post primary shared results) colon cancer.

He now requires immediate surgery before the cancer spreads to other organs.

Accessing safe and timely treatment where they are is extremely difficult. Seeking surgery in neighbouring countries presents serious risks, logistical challenges, and overwhelming financial costs. Despite these obstacles, our family is prepared to do everything possible to give him a chance to survive.

Why We Are Asking for Help

Mohammed needs $10,000 to cover:

• Critical surgery

• Required medical tests

• Chemotherapy treatment

• Essential medications

All other living expenses — including shelter, food, transportation, and support — are being covered by family members. Loved ones are making personal sacrifices and traveling to assist with his care.

However, the medical costs are time-sensitive, and we cannot raise this amount quickly enough on our own.

Doctors have advised that he be admitted as soon as possible.
