My beautiful dog Millie has been diagnosed with cancer. I brought her in for a lump on her leg that seemed like a harmless lipoma but it turned out to be a mast cell tumor. These tumors are common but they can be difficult to treat if they’re aggressive or in a difficult location (which hers is).
I adopted Millie in 2020 when I was a senior in high school. She gave me a reason to get up everyday during a time when my life and family were falling apart. I adopted her from a rescue that had rescued her from an abusive situation. She was adopted and returned twice after this and then I found her. I convinced my parents to let me get her by making a PowerPoint presentation that they couldn’t say no to.
She is the light of my life and one of the only sources of joy myself and my mom have. She loves demolishing a chew toy, cheese, running in the snow, and most of all: hugs.
I’m an elementary school teacher in a one income household so I don’t have the funds to pay for her surgery. Please help me save her.
