Hi, my name is Nicolas Sandy, and I’m reaching out with the heaviest heart.
My dog Melo Sandy, a sweet 10-year-old Bichon Frise, just turned 10 on July 12. He’s not just a dog—he’s my best friend, my shadow, and truly like a son to me.
Today, Melo was diagnosed with diabetes that had gone unnoticed. It quickly progressed into Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)—a critical and life-threatening condition if not treated immediately.
He’s now hospitalized at Arista Advanced Pet Care in Atlanta, GA:
5525 Interstate North Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30328
The doctors say Melo can recover with emergency care over the next 3–4 days, but the treatment is intensive and expensive. The total cost is estimated between $6,856 and $11,214, and they require a $7,000 deposit just to begin life-saving care.
I’m doing everything I can, but I can’t afford this on my own. Melo means the world to me. Seeing him lay there—silent, weak, not barking or wagging like he always does—is heartbreaking beyond words.
If you can help, in any way at all, you’ll be giving Melo a real chance to survive. Even sharing this means everything.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading and caring.
With love and hope,
Nicolas Sandy
