Mela has been my companion for nine years, ever since I rescued her as a tiny puppy from freezing temperatures. She was only five weeks old and the sole survivor of her litter. Since then, she’s become my best friend, my child, and my guardian. Mela goes everywhere with me—church, doctor’s appointments, even grocery shopping. She’s more than a pet; she’s family and my source of comfort and security.

Recently, Mela developed a critical infection that has caused severe symptoms. She’s currently at a vet hospital in Tulsa, and the only way to save her is through emergency surgery. We’ve tried antibiotics, but they aren’t enough to sustain her. The situation is urgent, and without surgery, Mela’s life is at risk.
