Meeko Leloo is my 10-year-old Husky and my very best friend. He’s been everywhere with me and has done everything by my side. Now, he’s facing the biggest challenge of his life—a rare squamous cell carcinoma with a draining tract in his anal gland. There have only been eight other reported cases like this, making his situation extremely rare and urgent.
Meeko needs surgery to remove most of the tumor, followed by radiation to treat the rest. WITHOUT TREATMENT, HIS LIFE EXPECTANCY IS THREE MONTHS. The cost of these treatments is overwhelming, but they offer real hope. Meeko is otherwise a healthy, happy husky, and with this care, he could have another 7-10 wonderful years ahead.
Meeko is more than a pet—he’s family, and he means the world to me. I’m reaching out for help because I can’t imagine life without him. Your support will give Meeko the chance he deserves, and I will be eternally grateful for any help you can give. Please help save his life!
I met Meeko on May 26, 2016, during a tender and uncertain chapter of my early twenties. I was feeling lost and hopeless. Back then, I would scroll through dogs on Craigslist purely for comfort, never truly intending to act. One Saturday night around 11 p.m., I came across an ad for husky puppies. On a whim, I thought, why not message them? To my surprise, the person responded immediately. He asked if I wanted to come by on Monday to pick up a puppy, and without thinking, I replied, “What about right now?”
Not long after, I found myself driving to Azusa—and that’s where I met my soulmate, the love of my life. I almost took home one of Meeko’s brothers, but just before I left, Meeko jumped into my lap, placed his paws directly on my heart, and looked me straight in the eyes. There was no denying him. He was only seven weeks old—such a tiny nugget—but somehow already felt like home.
From that moment on, Meeko went everywhere with me and did everything by my side. As a puppy, he was an absolute terror—getting into everything, destroying countless belongings, and going from zero to one hundred in seconds. He challenged me deeply, but those challenges are what made our bond so profound. Meeko helped me grow up. He grounded me, steadied me, and taught me responsibility, patience, and unconditional love.
A few years later, we moved to Colorado, where Meeko became a professional hiker—just the two of us on endless trails. Eventually, we made our way back to Los Angeles, where Meeko became the beloved Love Yoga studio dog. He held space in his own quiet way, offering comfort, presence, and love to everyone who walked through the studio doors.
If you’ve ever met Meeko, you know how ancient he is. He carries the wisdom of sages—an old soul in a husky’s body. One look from him tells you everything he’s thinking or trying to say. His eyes speak volumes. There is something undeniably magical about him, as if he has lived many lifetimes before this one.
Right now, Meeko is facing a medical battle that requires urgent care. His treatment plan includes surgery followed by radiation—both critical to giving him a real chance at a full life. The costs are overwhelming, and we cannot carry this alone.
