My husband, Eric and I, have been in the process of adopting my nieces in the Philippines. These girls are bright and have so much potential. They were so excited to come to Canada.
We were told that one of them, Mecha Ella (9 years old), had a UTI and a high fever. She got worse and needed to be admitted into the hospital.
In the Philippines, there is no health care. So every swab, every test, every treatment costs money.
A day of being in the hospital, they found out that what was most likely causing the fever was dengue fever. An illness from the bite of a mosquito. After several tests and x-rays, they also found pneumonia in her lungs, caused by covid.
This little girls body is fighting so hard to stay alive, but her blood now has infection. We’ve been told that she needs to get IVIG treatment, where they pump her body with healthy blood, to combat the infection, as well as a plasma blood transfusion.
She is 9.
She has a whole life to live yet.
She wants to feel the snow.
She’s worked hard to learn English.
She wants to live in a place of opportunity.
She wants to have us as her parents.
She wants to see her sister again.
She is critical.
And needs help.
Every treatment is $4500 CAD per DAY. We want to do everything we can to save her but we need your help. We can’t to do this on our own.
We are a family of 4 here in Canada, 2 natural born kids of our own and a dog. We were planning to grow our family into 6 with adopting these girls.
If she had been here, most do the medical treatments would be covered by our incredible health care. (THANK YOU CANADA!!)
Unfortunately, that is not the case.
So please, anything you can do. No matter how big or small. Sharing, liking, donating. We would appreciate it all.
