Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart. My sweet 4-month-old puppy, Maru, has been diagnosed with severe pulmonic stenosis and mild to moderate subaortic stenosis. She urgently needs a pulmonic balloon valvuloplasty to survive. Without this surgery, her life will be tragically cut short, and she could face cardiac arrest within the next couple of years.

The surgery alone costs $11,000 to $15,000, this does not include the travel between Winnipeg to Edmonton (the closest cardiologist to us), accommodations, medications, and aftercare costs that are required. Unfortunately, my pet insurance won’t cover the cost because her condition is congenital and deemed pre-existing. I'm reaching out for help because Maru is not just a pet; she is my family, my joy, and my heart.

Maru has brought so much happiness and love into my life. Seeing her playful spirit dimmed by this illness is heartbreaking. We’ve had to limit her activity and continually monitor her breathing and heart rate because she could go into cardiac arrest from over exertion. She deserves a chance to live a full, happy life, and with your help, we can make that possible.

I’ve attached some screenshots of the surgery estimate and the discharge papers from Pulse Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Clinic as proof of her condition and the cost of the surgery.
