We have some good news — our missing dock has been found! However, it’s currently hanging 6 feet above the river from a rusty hook, and we still don’t know the full extent of the damage. We may already be missing an entire ramp, which alone could cost $10,000 to replace.

The recovery process will require towing, repairs, and possibly replacing major sections — costs that add up quickly. Your donations are still critical to help us restore our docks and get back on the water.

In the early hours after a sudden flash flood swept through Milwaukee, The Marquette University Rowing Club awoke to devastation: destroyed and missing docks and over $30,000 in damage to the lifeline of our sport. The river we row on—usually our sanctuary—rose without warning and took with it not only essential equipment, but a piece of our community’s heart.

We are more than just a team. We are a family of student-athletes who start our days before sunrise, who row through freezing mornings and blazing afternoons, who support each other through every stroke on and off the water. Rowing is where we find discipline, joy, and belonging.

But now, we are facing an obstacle no amount of training can prepare you for: the loss of the very infrastructure that makes our sport possible.

We’re reaching out not only to our friends and family, but to the entire rowing community—clubs, teams, and rowers across the country who know what it means to pull together. Every team understands the feeling of pushing through the last painful meters of a race, of rallying when it matters most. This is our race for survival as a club.

Your donation will go directly toward replacing docks and ramps, repairing equipment, and restoring our ability to get back on the water. Without these, we cannot practice, we cannot compete, and our future seasons are at risk.
