Sunning, happy boy
I wanted to update everyone on Mario's homecoming. It wouldn't have happened if not for all of you! He needs to be safely confined to heal but he has other ideas. Nothing is holding him back! This handsome tripod is moble and happy already, just a couple days after the huge surgery. The vets at Angell checked him out with a complete physical and other than losing the leg he is doing great. Thank you again for supporting him and Debbie through this scary episode. He will need more follow up to watch the shoulders healing and incision, all looks fabulous now. I've included a pic of his first time sunning in his favorite window. We can't that you enough for the love and support.
Debbie’s beloved cat Mario is facing a life-changing challenge. Mario, an older cat with diabetes and osteoarthritis, recently broke his front leg during a scuffle with his brother cat. The injury is severe, and the only way to save Mario is to amputate his leg. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow to avoid infection and other complications. As he recovers, Mario will need ongoing medication, frequent follow-up appointments, and a safe, quiet space to heal.
For Debbie, this situation is heartbreaking. A few years ago, she survived a brain aneurysm that left her with lasting sensitivities to light and sound, making it difficult for her to work or spend time outside the home. Mario has been her constant companion through it all, offering comfort and companionship when she needs it most. With her work hours reduced and her income drastically affected, Debbie is struggling to cover the cost of Mario’s surgery and aftercare.
Donations will make it possible for Mario to get the surgery he needs and give Debbie hope during an incredibly difficult time. Without help, Debbie may have to make the impossible decision to say goodbye to her best friend. Your support will help keep this special pair together and give Mario the chance to heal and enjoy his golden years by Debbie’s side.
