Hello, my name is Markiel, and I’m a proud fur baby lover raising funds for my sweet girl, Maple.

I’ve had Maple since she was just 8 weeks old. Now 13 years young, she’s been the heart of our family — always ready for cuddles, long walks, and “girls’ nights out” with my Aunties and Cousins, who spoil her endlessly with love, attention, and plenty of treats.

Maple loves snuggling in warm blankets and playing with her siblings — Lola (our nearly 2-year-old pittie) and our cats, Cole and Nugget. She’s always been a gentle, happy soul, filling our home with warmth and laughter.

But on Friday, 04/25/25, I came home to a heartbreaking scene: Maple was lying on the floor, bleeding from multiple puncture wounds, with a severely bruised and bleeding left thigh. She had gotten into a fight with Lola.

I rushed her to Penn Veterinary Hospital, where she was quickly stabilized and admitted to the ICU for intensive pain management, bleeding control, treatment for low blood levels, and wound care. Today, Maple received a blood transfusion, but her journey is far from over — she now urgently needs surgery to stop the bleeding in her left thigh and give her a chance at recovery.

I’m doing everything I can to get Maple back to her healthy, happy self, but the medical costs are overwhelming. I would be deeply grateful for any help you can offer — whether it’s through donations, sharing our story, or simply sending positive thoughts and prayers. Every little bit brings us closer to seeing Maple cuddle up in her favorite blanket again.

Maple girl is finally home from the hospital and getting stronger each day. She’s still on a long road to recovery, but she’s showing her sweet, loving spirit more and more as she heals.

We’re so grateful for the outpouring of love, support, donations, and prayers — it truly means the world to me. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised nearly $1,000 so far!

That said, we’re still a long way from our goal of $15,000 to fully cover Maple’s emergency care, surgery, and continued recovery needs. If you’re able to share or contribute in any way, it would make a huge difference.
