# Help Save Madge's Mobility – After Everything She's Been Through, She Deserves a Chance

Some dogs seem to be dealt every bad hand imaginable. Sweet little Madge is one of them.

Before she was even two years old, Madge had already endured a life no dog should ever experience. She spent her early life trapped in a puppy farm, valued only for the puppies she could produce.

Her final litter ended in heartbreak. She gave birth, lost every one of her puppies, and was then discarded and surrendered, as though her life no longer mattered.

Thankfully, rescue stepped in.

We thought the worst was finally behind her.

But that wasn't the end of Madge's story.

Not long after coming into rescue, Madge went missing and somehow survived alone for ten terrifying days before she was found. Since then, she has faced one health battle after another, but through it all she has remained the sweetest, gentlest little soul, never losing her love for people despite everything humans have put her through.

Now, Madge is facing her biggest challenge yet.

She is losing the use of her legs.

After extensive investigations, including a specialist MRI costing over **£4,000**, we finally have answers. Madge has a serious spinal disc problem. The specialist believes surgery offers her the best chance of keeping her mobility and enjoying a happy future.

Because this condition has been developing for some time, the surgery carries more risk than usual. There are no guarantees. But without giving her this chance, she is at real risk of continuing to lose the ability to walk.

As a rescue, we never give up on dogs like Madge. Every animal deserves the opportunity to live without pain and with dignity, no matter how difficult their past has been.
