My name is Claire and I’m asking for help for my beautiful little dog Luna, whom I took in from a family 3 yrs ago, as they wanted her gone asap. Sadly, I was completely unaware when I rehomed her, she was already suffering early signs of glaucoma!
Luna is six years old and has already lost one eye to glaucoma. Despite everything she’s been through, she has remained the sweetest, happiest little dog and has adapted so incredibly well.
Now, the unthinkable has happened; the sight in her only remaining eye has gone and it will be removed next week. I’m extremely grateful to MBG vets, as not only have they removed varies charges, saving me around £200 odd but they’re also securing funding from Bluecross charity, to help reduce the vet bill further!
Asking for help is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but I’ve run out of options. Unfortunately over the last year due to the rising cost of living, this has meant I could no longer afford Luna’s pet insurance, as the monthly premiums rose to £59 and despite desperately trying to keep it going, I simply couldn’t afford it. I’ve contacted every organisation I can think of. The RSPCA were only able to offer £30 towards her assessment appointment and I’m still waiting to hear back from the PDSA too.
Anyone who knows Luna, knows how special she is to me and has brought so much love, comfort and laughter into my life and my little Grandson, so I’m completely heartbroken for my little Luna!
Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards Luna’s veterinary surgery she is booked in for next week. If we raise more than the £600 needed, any remaining funds will be donated to an animal charity so they can help another family facing the same situation. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this page would mean the world to us.
So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for any kindness you can show.
With love and gratitude,
Claire & Luna
