Hi, my name is Amber and I started this GoFundMe for my dog, Luna, who is 3 years old. She has a infection called pyometra. Pyometra is a serious and potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus in female dogs. It is caused by bacteria that thrive in the uterus after a heat cycle, when progesterone levels are high. It cannot be treated by simple antibiotics alone and requires a complete ovariohysterectomy (removal of the ovaries and uterus). Without this life saving surgery, my dog will die. My family is currently struggling to make ends meet and this was something we never planned for to happen. The initial visit to the vet is $150 just to get her seen, whereas treatment—including surgery—is upwards of $2000. If you are able to donate, you’d be helping save my dog’s life as leaving this untreated will result in death. If you’re not able to donate, please consider resharing so I can get as many eyes on this as possible. Luna is my baby and I love her so much; I hate seeing her in discomfort and pain.
