Hi, my name is Sam, and I’m asking for help for my beautiful dog, Luna — a gentle, loving Whippet who’s been through something no animal should ever experience.
Just two weeks ago, Luna had five teeth removed during a dental procedure. The vets told me she could return to normal food after a week, with no warning about avoiding anything — despite the fact that her jawbone had been involved during the surgery (which I only found out afterward).
This week (13 days post op) she gently took one bite of a dental stick — something she’s had many times before — and I immediately heard a loud crack. She reacted as if she’d been electrocuted. Her mouth started pouring with blood, and I rushed her in for emergency care.
She’s now been diagnosed with a suspected jaw break or fracture, and she needs immediate surgery, which costs £2,500 — something I simply cannot afford on my own.
The most heartbreaking part is that I believe this could have been avoided with better care and proper advice from the vet. But while I try to fight that battle, Luna is in pain now, and I can’t let her suffer.
Luna means the world to me. She’s calm, kind, and gentle with everyone she meets — the kind of dog who will sit quietly next to you just to make sure you’re okay. She doesn’t deserve to be in this much pain, and I’m doing everything I can to get her the surgery she needs.
If you can help at all — no matter how small — it would mean everything. If you can’t donate, sharing this story would be just as powerful.
Thankyou for taking the time to read this.
