Lucy is our beloved cat and has been with me, Claudia, for almost 9 years. She's been with me since I moved out of my parents' home, being my loyal companion through tough times, the pandemic, and now she is a very important part of our family. She’s always been safe inside and lacks the abilities an outdoor cat would need to survive outside. Recently, Lucy managed to get out of the house and was tragically hit by a car. She suffered multiple fractures to her pelvic area, trauma injuries, a punctured lung, acidosis in her kidneys, blood in her lungs, and dangerously low oxygen levels. Despite all of this, Lucy’s determination shone through—she can't walk at all, and yet she crawled all the way to our door, looking for me. Her survival is nothing short of a miracle, but she is still in a very critical condition.
The emergency clinic worked quickly to stabilize her, running lab tests, x-rays, providing medications, oxygen, and keeping her under close observation. The costs for just the first two days and one night of stay plus all the procedures have drained our savings. Lucy now needs surgery, and the expenses are expected to rise even more. Immediate payments are required to ensure she receives the medical care she needs, and without help, we face the possibility of Lucy being discharged before she’s stable enough to be safe.
It’s not easy for us to ask for financial assistance, but this is a time-sensitive emergency and we are out of options. We are doing everything we can, but we would be so grateful for any help from those who understand how much a pet can be loved, and how special Lucy is to us. Your support could make all the difference in saving Lucy’s life.
