Help Save Lucy: Chemo for Our Beloved Golden

I am writing in prayer that you can help with my 5 year old Golden , Lucy.

Around the end of July I noticed a little bump that was the size of my pinky fingernail on her child, it was aspirated and inconclusive for MCT.

We monitored and re-aspirated and again , inconclusive .We did take her swimming in a pond and she did get stung by bees so we originally thought it may have been an allergic reaction- the vet thought .

It continued to grow so I had it removed on Sept 27. It came back a grade 3 mast cell tumor . The vet is recommending chemo and I have no idea how I can afford this . We have 4 children and this economy is horrible right now . CSU did the histopathology report . I need to save her , she is part of our family , she is like having a 5 th child . She is an “unofficial” emotional support dog for my 10 year old son who has adhd and struggles with emotion regulation. She is by his side 24/7. Anyone who meets her says how special she is and she is a one of a kind dog .

I am hoping and praying you can help . I will send her report over . We will take her over 2 hours away to a teaching hospital that is more affordable . We have had a hard year financially - I work 6 days a week and we just keep getting knocked down. I paid almost $1700 for the mass removal and we just can’t gather the funds for chemo . We were quoted $3500 - however I made the request $4000 since go fund me does take fees from what is raised .

She is still a young dog who deserves many years more of belly rubs , hikes , snuggles , kisses and treats. Her birthday was November 17, she just turned 5.

We did have pet insurance but I had switched policies and they denied our mass removal claim and are considering the cancer pre existing.

I will include documentation as well in regards to what we have paid for and the estimate for chemo.
