Hey, my name is Cayden Mobley. Early Friday morning, I received a panic call from my sister, screaming and crying that “Lucky” was dying.
Lucky is my sister’s therapy dog. He helps her with anxiety and depression. He is her entire world and vice versa. Wherever Lucky is, Kaylee is right there with him. He has been with Kaylee for the majority of his life. Lucky was a rescue dog from a kill shelter and, prior to that, was abused and neglected.
After a 10-minute vicious attack from a neighbor's dog, they were finally able to get the dog off our dog Lucky. We rushed Lucky to the vet only to find out they closed at 5 p.m. We then took him to the emergency vet, and they charged a whopping $1,105 just to have him on meds and X-rays. The X-rays came back showing that Lucky’s jaw had been broken into pieces, and his jaw is poking from his skin on the inside of his mouth.
The emergency vet here in Asheville, NC, is not capable of doing the surgery, so they called around to many vets. There are only two options for vets who can help Lucky, and one quote came back at $14k in Greenville, SC, and the other came back at $11.5k in Columbia, SC. He is scheduled for the surgery on Monday, June 2nd. Needless to say, we need HELP! We aren’t the type of people to ever ask for handouts, but we can’t find any other options to save his life and save my sister's heart. Anything you can do to help is much appreciated, even if it’s just sharing this. Thank you so much. God bless. ❤️
