Luai is a young man from Gaza. He has endured unimaginable hardship, surviving the horrors of recent war. Now, as he tries to rebuild his life, Luai faces a new and urgent challenge: personal injuries have left his vision in jeopardy, and he is struggling every day to hold onto hope.

Luai is suffering from a serious eye condition (cataracts/membrane growth) that requires urgent surgery. Due to the complete collapse of the healthcare system in Gaza, the specialized medical equipment and expertise needed for his surgery are no longer available.

We have launched this campaign to ask for your help in covering the costs of traveling abroad for life-changing surgery and aftercare.

Costs of specialized surgery in Egypt: $12,000

Hospital fees, fees for the specialized medical team, pre- and post-operative examinations: $7000

Border crossing costs from Gaza to Egypt, travel tickets, and temporary accommodation costs for Luai and his companion: $5000

Costs of necessary medications and medical supplies, and medical follow-up to ensure the success of the procedure: $8000
