Loreto Rivas Sarmiento (56) is not just a name; he is a father, a brother, and a friend who is fighting for his life against Chronic Kidney Disease, Secondary to Diabetic Kidney Disease. Unfortunately, he is facing a critical situation that requires immediate emergency kidney treatment.

Loreto's journey has been fraught with heartbreak and struggle. Years ago, he faced personal tragedies: his wife left him, and more recently, he lost his only son. This profound loss has only compounded the challenges he faces with his health. Living alone in the Philippines, Loreto has endured the cruel realities of life with chronic disease, relying solely on the love and support of his family, especially his devoted niece , who has become his primary caregiver.

My best friend, Myra Sarmiento, has dedicated her time and resources to care for her uncle. Working in a hospital while looking after him, she has emptied her savings, reached out to government assistance programs, and sought help from family and friends. Yet, despite her unwavering dedication, the mounting hospital bills have become insurmountable, and they have been denied further medical treatment due to their inability to pay.
