Help Save Lola: Urgent Medical Care for our Shiba

Dear friends, family, and fellow animal lovers,
We are reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a plea for help. Our beloved dog, Lola, a vibrant 4-year-old Shiba Inu, was involved in a devastating accident on August 1, 2023.She was struck by a car, leaving her with severe injuries that require immediate medical attention.
Lola has been an integral part of our lives since she was a tiny puppy. She has brought immeasurable joy, love, and companionship to our family. Her playful nature, unwavering loyalty, and boundless energy have made her an irreplaceable member of our household. The accident left Lola in critical condition.
During her week in the ICU the vets discovered a collapsed lung in addition to 500ml of air in her small chest that made it difficult to breathe which required them to puncture her chest in order to remove the air and relieve her from that pressure. Miraculously, based on her X-rays no fractures were discovered.
Lola finally returned home to continue her recovery. Although her respiratory symptoms have drastically improved she is still in excruciating pain that vets suspect is caused by a slipped vertebrae pinching a nerve. In order to accurately diagnose her condition and provide the lifesaving care she desperately needs, Lola must undergo a MRI scan as well as potential surgery to give her the quality of life she so greatly deserves. Unfortunately if Lola is unable to receive the proper treatment, her prognosis for quality of life is poor due to her pain. The vets have suggested that we put her down if we cannot proceed with treatment.
As imagined, her initial vet bills from the ICU are overwhelming. As much as we wish we could bear this financial burden on our own, it surpasses our current means. That is why we are humbly turning to our community for support.
We have created this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds that will directly contribute to Lola's medical expenses. Every dollar donated will be used to cover the MRI, surgical procedure, post-operative care, medications, and ongoing rehabilitation to ensure Lola's swift recovery and return to a happy, healthy life.
