Hi, my name is Emma, and I’m Loki’s cat mum.
I’ve started this fundraiser after Loki was hit by a car and suffered life-threatening injuries. He has been through multiple surgeries and complications, and while he is insured, his policy has only covered £4,500 of his treatment.
So far, Loki’s vet bills have reached over £12,000 and there is still approximately £8,000 left to pay. This has been incredibly difficult to fund alone, even with the help of my brother, but we wanted to give Loki the best possible chance at life, he is only 2 years old.
Any donation, even £1, would mean more than I can put into words and would help us so much.
Loki’s Story
On 8th January 2026, Loki was hit by a car and somehow survived. At 3am, he managed to walk himself home and went to sleep. At the time, I didn’t realise anything was wrong.
By the morning, Loki was bleeding from his mouth and struggling to breathe, so I rushed him straight to the vets. Scans showed that he had:
• A broken jaw
• Broken ribs
• Internal bleeding
• A collapsed lung
Thankfully, the internal bleeding had stopped, and Loki underwent surgery to repair his jaw. He sadly lost his two right canine teeth but came home with me to recover.
For a week Loki seemed to be doing well. Then he began having coughing episodes. After several vet checks where his lungs sounded okay, we kept returning home hopefully.
A sudden deterioration
On the night of 1st February, Loki deteriorated very rapidly. He was gasping for air, spasming, and open-mouth breathing. I genuinely thought I was going to lose him.
After another episode the following morning, Loki was taken back to the vets for further x-rays. These showed his airway was narrowing, and he was urgently referred to specialist vets. He was kept in an oxygen chamber before being transferred the next day.
The specialists confirmed that Loki had a torn trachea from the original accident. A temporary “pseudo-trachea” had formed but was gradually collapsing, dangerously restricting his breathing near his lungs.
Life-saving surgery & recovery ❤️
Loki underwent major surgery to remove the damaged section of his trachea and reconnect the healthy parts. He stayed in hospital for several days and has now returned home.
I’m incredibly relieved to say that Loki is doing amazingly well. His specialists are very happy with his progress, and he continues to recover at home. He is truly a fighter and a survivor, and I’m so proud of him.
I will continue to share Loki’s recovery on TikTok.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read his story and for any support you’re able to give.
