Loki is my sisters 6-year-old dog and a beloved member of our family. Yesterday, I noticed he was straining to have a bowel movement and barking in pain. When I checked on him, I saw severe swelling on both sides of his buttocks near his anus, each about the size of a golf ball. After researching his symptoms, I rushed him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with a perineal hernia that requires immediate surgery. The vet confirmed that Loki cannot safely wait another day without intervention, and he is currently stable but in significant pain.
We have already paid for diagnostics, including x-rays, bloodwork, and sedation. However, the surgery itself, along with aftercare, suture removal, neuter, and medications, is more than I can afford on my own. I was only approved for a small amount in financing and do not have the ability to cover the remaining cost. The vet has said they may be able to adjust treatment plans based on what I can raise today, making this extremely time sensitive.
I am asking for any help—donations, shares to rescue groups or veterinary communities, leads on lower-cost surgeons or rescue sponsorships, or any organization willing to help cover or take on part of his care. I will provide updates and receipts for everything, and I have attached the full vet estimate for transparency. Even sharing could save Loki’s life right now. Thank you for reading and caring.
