My name is Dave Bregger and my Wife is Nancy and our younger Son is Jeff. We lost our beloved oldest Son, and Jeff's best friend, Dan August, 29 of 2021. His cause of death was the combined toxic effects of Mitragynine (over the counter name is KRATOM) and diphenhydramine (active ingredient in Benadryl and many over the counter sleep aids.) We believe he was looking for a safe natural way to deal with his anxiety.

An estimated 1.7 million Americans aged 12 and older used kratom in 2021, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Survey on Drug Use and Health.

There are no drug products containing kratom or its two main chemical components that are legally on the market in the U.S. FDA has not approved any prescription or over-the-counter drug products containing kratom or its two main chemical components, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH-mitragynine)."

My son died in Colorado where Kratom is sold in vape stores, convenience stores and even Gas stations.

Despite what many web sites will tell you (most that are selling the substance) that it is safe and effective for all kinds of things from anxiety to helping get off opioids, pain and many more. Kratom is marketed as a nutritional supplement among many other safe sounding names but make no mistake... it is a dangerous, deadly and highly addictive DRUG.

The purpose of this web site is to cut through all of the misinformation on Kratom and its Lobbyist Claims that it is basically a "wonder Supplement" (supporters don't want to call it a drug and that will bring in the FDA) and to provide information on the addictive properties and deaths caused by Kratom. I want to help save lives and bring a more transparent view on what are the real potential dangers of this completely unregulated products when organizations are out there spreading misinformation with the goal of increased sales and profits, including many lobbyists that are making large sums of money so they can continue to milk this cash cow. This site includes information directly from many government, and respected sources as well as they ever-growing number of articles that are bringing light to the dangers, addictive properties and deaths linked directly to deaths. As well as sharing personal stories of overdoses, addiction and death. Additionally, I will be actively working on pushing for and supporting legislation to ban Kratom in my home state of New Hampshire and other states as well as National legislation while concurrently working to get the FDA to list Kratom (Mitragynine) as a controlled substance. The ultimate goal is to save lives!

Approximately 2,000 people a year die with Kratom in their system, often with other illegal drugs but many of those can be contributed to the fact that Kratom works on the same opioid receptors and as a result minimizes the effects of opioids if people take them after taking Kratom so they have to take more to get the effects they are trying to achieve and tragically overdose.
