The past year was a really difficult year for many, and even harder for some.  My friend Sage lost her job in the midst of the Covid crisis, and is having a difficult time finding a new one.    Sage lives alone in Colorado with her 12 year old rescue Cocker Spaniel named Kayla (nicknamed Kayla Bayla).   

A few weeks ago Sage noticed a strange looking growth on Kayla's lip and took her to the vet, where she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of melanoma.  Other than this, Kayla is a loving, happy, and healthy best friend.   If acted upon and treated quickly, Kayla stands to live another 1-2 years.  If she does nothing, Kayla likely will die in the next few months.  

Sage is not ready to lose her best friend and companion who is helping her get through this already difficult time in her life.  Without a job, it will be very challenging for her to pay for Kayla's treatment.
